Woman - Word warriors

The Creatrix's thoughts were transformed into words as women told stories around fireplaces to their children and grandchildren. Stories thus, became vehicles for transmission of culture and history /her- story which often did not find any space in the Master narrative.

Women wove stories as they wove the various filaments of their relationships- with family, society, nature, ecology, mother earth and of course, the goddesses. Goddesses symbolized the power of words and all the rituals associated with creation, womanhood and storytelling.

Words gave them the power to survive adverse weather, natural calamities, diseases, wars and cultural genocide. Words acquired the power of the fire, wind, water, earth and ether, and the stories these word warriors wove became acts of worship, survival and love.
